Famous village of "Parakandias" with a rich history and tradition. It is 14 km from Heraklion and is built on an altitude of 569 meters on the Western outskirts of Youchtas "besieged" by many vineyards and olive groves. Most residents of the village are the refugee origin.
The village Karkadiotissa is located at a distance of 35.4 km from Heraklion on the road Irakleio – profitis Ilias – Kiparissi – Galeni – Roukani – Karkadiotissa. Can be reached also from the monastery of Agios Georgios Apanosifi, from which is 3.7 km.
Built at the foot of the Hill "Parathiri" (height of 472 m) at an altitude of 410 metres and at a distance of 33 kilometers on the road Heraklion-Profitis Ilias, Kyparissos – Roukani-belongs to the Regional Section of the municipality in accordance with the "Kallikratis" plan.
