CHURCH OF ST. SILA IN KERASIA

The Church of St. Silas is currently derelict and hidden within dense vegetation small Canyon immediately west of the current village cemetery.
Only the North wall and the beginning of the semicircular arch. The temple was dedicated to Agios Silas, one of the seventy disciples of Jesus and faithful companion of the Apostle Paul. Silas was a Christian of the 1st century. and Roman citizen. Imprisoned in Philippi of Macedonia together with the Apostle Paul, and later became Bishop of Corinth. The Church of St. Silas is referred to as one of the churches of Crete by g. Gerola in the catalog, but already the early era of the 20th century. the temple was ruined.
