Raisins

The dried grapes (raisins) in previous decades were the dominant agricultural product not only in regional unity of the municipality and the whole of the Prefecture of Heraklion.

The "blonde" gold "as it was was one of dynamic exportable products of the County and especially the region ensure a satisfactory annual income of growers. Today, for the most part the raisin vineyards have been replaced.

In the municipal Region of Heraklion villages still retained raisin vineyards and even renewed xanakerdizontas little ' lost ground ' the economic contribution of the product to the development of the site.
