The family deals professionally with wine production since the 1930s. Continuing the family tradition, I went for Oenological studies in Italy and in 1992, gradually, anadiarthrwsa vineyards and Winery equipment updated. The varieties grown in our vineyards are native Cretan and international varieties. Owned vineyards is 100 acres. We provide with enough raw material to the needs of our small family winery, which bottles large quantities.
Most Cretan grape varieties are white. We are among the first who developed and put forward one of the best varieties of Greece and perhaps the best of Crete, Cretan variety Vidiano white. It is a full body M variety which gives very nice fresh wines, as well as very good wines with fermentation in barrel. The wine bears M a lot in winemaking but tank and on the shelf, something that allows the bottle to stay even longer at points of sale, product without charge. Also, we have started experimental production of sparkling wine from Vidiano, and expect to surprise us with its features. The white varieties that we owned and Vilana, the Malvasia, Muscat and Assyrtiko. The Vilana is a very good variety that gives cool white wines, as well as the aromatic varieties Malvasia di Candia Aromatica and Muscat. The Malvasia di Candia Aromatica was famous from the time of Venetian rule in our island.
In Crete there are many white grape varieties, but only three Red: Liatiko, kotsifali and Mandilari. Liatiko cultivated primarily in our region and is a protected designation of origin Dafnes. This is an interesting and elegant red variety, which gives wines with less volume and surprises with its diversity. The Kotsifali vinified in blends with Syrah, Rosé and Enotria Enotria in Red, while the Mandilari gives wines with intense red color. We have chosen to grow Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, varieties that have fully acclimatized to our site and give us very good wines. Cabernet Sauvignon wine is the White Hare, while wine Syrah is going to change the name and the label soon. In conclusion, mention that like the winery we have the ability to produce, to we vinify and emfialwnoyme independently, which allows us to keep prices at good levels. We are proud that in Greece we have the best reputation according to consumers, the price-quality ratio of our products.
The Winery is open to visitors. You can get (upon request) to show you the area of the winery and the production of Cretan wine.
In the tasting room you can taste our wines, get to know their characteristics and to talk about the varieties of grapes and the Cretan vineyards.
